# Free plan

The Free plan includes 20 messages per five-hour window, 200 messages per week, and 10 requests per minute, with access to Fantail.

## Eligibility

**A credit card is not required to use the Free plan.** To keep Free plan access fair and widely available, Autohand verifies account eligibility before granting access. You qualify if any one of the following applies. Most accounts qualify automatically by linking an eligible GitHub account.

| GitHub account | Your linked GitHub account is at least 30 days old. No payment details are required. |
| Invite | You were invited by an existing account holder. |
| Administrative grant | Autohand granted you access directly. |
| Card on file | You can optionally add a card if no other method applies. The card is not charged and no subscription is created. |

Eligibility is checked only at signup or when you manually claim access. It is not checked during model requests and does not affect response times. The Free plan provides ongoing access rather than a one time trial. Eligibility checks help prevent misuse while keeping the plan free for legitimate users.

## When to upgrade

Free is designed for evaluation and light use with Fantail, including code completions, quick fixes, review comments, test scaffolding, and short agent loops. Consider upgrading to Pro when you need **Moa** for repository level reasoning or require more than 200 messages per week.
